The premise of My Father’s New Queen
An aging king marries a bride who is closer to his son’s generation than to his own. The wedding night should belong to the king, but she walks into the son’s room instead.
As he loosens her gown, the prince finds a mark that gives her away: she is working for the enemy. Now he holds a secret that could expose her, and the bride who is meant to be his father’s is standing right in front of him. Betrayal, loyalty and desire all share one bedroom, and the series is built on that collision.
Token math: 2 free episodes, 36 to finish
Episode 1 plays with no account and episode 2 is free once you sign up with an email. After those 2 of 5 episodes, the remaining three are locked at 12 tokens each.
The total to finish is 36 tokens, about $1.44 on the yearly plan’s tokens and about $3.60 at the pack rate. Candy’s Premium plans include 100 tokens a month, which is enough for this series plus another standard five-parter, with 28 tokens left over.
A spy in the royal bedroom
A royal court, a wedding night and a political secret give this story a flavor of its own. The hook arrives immediately: a bride, a prince and a hidden loyalty.
The setup hands the prince something dangerous to know about the woman in his room, which is exactly the kind of imbalance that keeps a short series tense. Episodes are short vertical clips with subtitles in seven languages including English, and as a Candy original it sits at the standard 12-token episode price. Because everything starts on the wedding night, the story has urgency built in, and a five-episode run suits it.
Fans of intrigue, start here
It is for viewers who like intrigue with their heat: a spy, a forbidden bedroom and a bride whose loyalty is in question.
Try The Witch Who Made Me King if a crown in the title and a Fantasy tag appeal, Under the Chief for another story with no genre tag at the same 36 tokens, or My Wife’s Dance Instructor for a Wife and Teacher mix.
Verdict: a wedding night worth 36 tokens
Start with the free episodes on Candy and see whether the setup grabs you; episode 1 needs no account and episode 2 only needs a free sign-up. If it does, the other three cost 36 tokens in total. A strong pick for anyone who wants forbidden attraction wrapped in palace intrigue.
