The set-up of Our Surprise for Mom!
Mom has a big birthday on Saturday, and a surprise party is being planned behind her back. The plan starts with her stepdad, and the planning gets hotter than anyone intended. A guest room is the first stop, the upstairs hallway the second, and by then neither of them is touching the brakes.
Candy’s own blurb ends on Aunt Sarah showing up, which leaves you wondering what she walks into. It is a Taboo household drama with a birthday banner on top, told in five short vertical episodes. The premise is easy to follow, so you can start watching without any backstory.
Free episodes and the token bill
Episode 1 plays with no account at all. Episode 2 is free as well once you sign up with an email address, no card needed. That is 2 of the 5 episodes watched before you spend a single token.
Episodes 3 to 5 are locked at 12 tokens each, so finishing costs 36 tokens. That works out to about $1.44 on the yearly plan’s token allowance, about $3.60 at the pack rate and about $5.04 against the monthly allowance. Our Candy Shorts price page breaks down the plans.
Why a surprise party makes such a good setting
A surprise party is a smart pressure cooker: everyone is hiding something, and someone is always about to arrive. Add a stepdad, a household secret and the Taboo tag, Candy’s biggest genre, and the tension builds on its own.
Because you watch rather than steer, the pacing stays tight. Each episode is a short vertical video with subtitles in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese. And as a Candy original that Candy currently marks New, it is one of the freshest things you can press play on. It also makes a handy first Taboo story if you have not tried Candy Shorts before.
Who will love it and what to queue next
Pick it if you like Taboo stories set at home, with a family secret and a countdown. Want more at the same 36 tokens? I Couldn’t Say No to Our Babysitter shares the Taboo tag, My Bachelor Gift was My Fiancée’s Mom adds Milf and Stepmom, and Not Under My Roof brings in a Cuckold twist. All three are short runs, so you can sample a second story for the price of this one.
Verdict: easy to start, easy to finish
Our Surprise for Mom! is a quick, flirty, secrets-at-home five-parter that costs nothing to try. Start with the two free episodes on Candy and see how the party planning heats up. If Aunt Sarah’s arrival has you hooked, unlock the last three episodes for 36 tokens in total. At about $1.44 to $3.60, it is a small price for an evening’s entertainment.
