UNDER HER ARMOR: a double life at the office
He is the timid one at the office, happier admiring from a distance than making a move. Then he learns that his quiet coworker leads a second life as softbunny_xo, the cosplay star whose posts he follows and adores.
Their online flirtation spills into real life, and the story stops being a fan’s daydream. He has to guard her double life and show that he wants the real woman behind the costume, not just the character. The armor in the title reads as a nod to the cosplay, and to the protection a secret identity offers.
What the five episodes cost
The opening is free. Episode 1 plays without an account, and episode 2 is free once you sign up with an email address, no card. That is 2 of the 5 episodes.
Episodes 3 to 5 are 12 tokens each, 36 tokens to finish: about $1.44 on the yearly plan’s tokens, about $3.60 at the pack rate, or about $5.04 on the monthly plan’s tokens. Two standard series fit inside one Premium month’s 100 tokens, with 28 left over.
Romance, cosplay and a secret
Underneath the flirtation, this is a romance with a real obstacle. Secret identities suit a short series: every conversation at work carries a second layer, and the hero has something precious to protect. Here the hidden layer is a cosplay persona, which adds color and a playful visual identity to the story.
The lead is not a smooth operator but a timid fan who has to prove he is sincere, which promises a romance with feeling as well as heat. Episodes are short vertical clips subtitled in six languages, and as a Candy original it is made for your phone. Better still, episode 1 needs no account, so the first taste is free.
Who will fall for it
Viewers who like a softer, romance-driven build alongside the heat will love it, and so will anyone who has ever had a crush on someone they follow online. It also suits fans of a hero who wants to protect the woman he likes. Try The Witch Who Made Me King for a Fantasy flavor, My Wife’s Dance Instructor for a married twist or Under the Chief as another untagged pick. All three cost 36 tokens to finish.
Verdict: an easy bet with a free start
Give the secret-identity hook a try with the two free episodes on Candy. If it works for you, the final three cost 36 tokens, about $1.44 to $5.04 depending on your plan. A shy fan, a hidden persona and a low price make this a pick we are happy to recommend.
